Dine Out Fort Lauderdale

... so anyone have plans to hit any of the Dine Out restaurants? Myself I'm a bit disappointed in the Fort Lauderdale offer, since it doesn't offer lunch or weekends like MIami.

We will probably hit By Word of Mouth, Galanga and maybe Chima.

We went to Le Bistro in LHP last week. Place was pretty slow, but the service was nice. You get 4-courses plus a cheese/port finish.

Food wasn't terrible, but it wasn't outstanding, either. The regular menu looked great and we'll probably go back to try a few things that caught our eye.

I am really looking forward to trying several - last year was great. Some continue to be very disappointing, like 3030 Ocean. It has middling ambiance in a Marriott, so you'd think they would try harder and have a good menu. Just like last year, ONE CHOICE. And places like Sunfish, which specialize in SEAFOOD< only have salmon as a fish choice. Duh...salmon is not SEAfood. And Trina just gets worse in every way every day! Some places are offering top notch items, like Trulucks and Capital Grill. I am going to try to hit all the good ones in the next month.

It is disappointing that there are no lunch offerings like in Miami.

By Word of Mouth was a bit of a disappointment this time. I normally really like it but someone in that place really has a sweet tooth.

        Appetizers:
Lobster Triangles with sweet chili sauce. Good.
Marscapone pate. Good, but the sun-dried tomatoes were a touch sweet

Bread with sweet pineapple and golden raisin butter.

Field Greens with (very) sweet honey balsamic vinaigrette

        Entrees:
Pork Medallions with Chipotle Raspberry sauce, lightly sweetened with a little kick
Coconut crusted snapper with banana caramel sauce. VERY sweet

I wouldn't have ordered the sweet entree had I known everything else was so sweet. We both got lime curd cheesecake for dessert, to go. I absolutely couldn't face any more sugar right at that moment. I just wanted to go home and brush my teeth.

any thoughts on Osteria da Campo's offering? Have been wanting to check this place out for a long time.

Chima is a good choice, since you get the standard menu they offer you can't go wrong with the cheaper price.

Wow, no one? We are going to By Word of Mouth tonight - they are honoring it on Friday nights.

Went to Cafe Maxx last week...Great offerings on paper, but the food and service were mediocre, at best...and the restaurant decor is very tired!
We were at HiLife tonight...A better choice.
