Yesterday or maybe a few days ago I added a record for Verdure Farm - Tomato Heaven.

As of today it still does not come up in the list to review or the list to link.

I thought maybe the dash in the name was causing problems so I removed it. Nope. The changed name shows up only in search.

So I entered a new record a few hours ago called Tomato Heaven. Nothing, nada, can't link or review. Yet hear are two records in search.
http://search.chow.com/search?query=Tomato+Heaven&location=Healdsburg%2C+Ca&type=Restaurant&board_ids=1&advanced=1&sort_mode=best_match

Also added a business called "Sweet"

Days later it did not show up in the drop down lists for reviews or links.

I had to expand the name to Sweet Creme Brulee for it to show up in lists. The real name though is just Sweet. They happen to sell other things but creme brulee is most of the product line.

Thanks for this feedback. The problem is that the link to a place options are limited to 60 miles from SF, which we now see is far too small a radius, so we will alter that so that healdsburg and other SFBay Area places beyond 60 miles can be found.

For the 'sweet' issue, if the name is incorrect in our database, you should be able to change it in the edit mode. Are you?

It was spelled correctly. It just would not pick up if it was only "Sweet". Is there a minimum number of characters for a name?

Hello, any timetable for fixing this? You've shut out those of us in the North Bay/Wine Country and South Bay/Gilroy from using links.

Fwiw, the border between Sonoma County and Mendocino County, which is the northern edge of the SF Bay Area region is approx. 100 miles from San Francisco. The southern boundary of Santa Clara County is about 80 miles from SF.

Seriously, this is a major PITA

I was waiting to post asking about an update until I took the time to calculate maximum miles.

Melanie did that ... days ago.

What is the hold up here?

Is this some major programming thing? I can't imagine this isn't some sort of easily set parameter that doesnt' involve touching the code.

Perhaps this should be moved to the Techinical Help board as this is an error.

WINE COUNTRY FOLKS ... this is a major chunk of the Bay Area that no one can review.

It has been one month since this has been reported. At the very least could there be some sort of reply why this has not been fixed yet?

While there has been a lot going on addressing the latest round of bugs, it becomes increasingly more difficult to understand why this can not be pushed out.

The way the site works currently, search is difficult to use, linking means nothing anymore in terms of finding records.

The only option left is marking some posts as reviews and in the Bay Area a significant and active part of it ... Wine Country ... cannot be acknowledged in any way.

I;m also curious why this isn't in Technical Help. This is a bug. ChowHQ acknowledged it as a bug. It is not opinion about a feature of the site, it is an out and out problem.
