Restaurant Gift for residents of Glastonbury, CT

My husband and I just visited friends in Glastonbury and would like to repay their hospitality with a gift certificate to a nice restaurant. They are adventuresome eaters (they're expats - Middle East, Europe and Asia) and don't mind driving for great cuisine and atmosphere. We'll probably spend $100-150. All suggestions would be appreciated.

If your friends don't mind driving and appreciate great food and atmosphere, my top two picks in Connecticut are:

    Brasserie Pip, Ivoryton:

    Sharpe Hill Vineyard, Pomfret:

EDIT: Know what? Please add Luce in Middletown to my list. It's definitely of the same quality as the other two restaurants I named, and--for me (and your friends)--more local. :

Thanks very much - I think I will go with Luce since it's so close and I know they've been to J Gilbert.

I was going to suggest a gift card to one nof the Max restaurants. Max Fish and Max Amore are both in town and are very good. Another great place is 2 Hopewell in South Glastonbury. It is excellent. Jay
