John's Best opening in Ridgefield
New sign up on the former Ridgefield Pizza restaurant on Rte. 7 just south of Rte. 35 says that it will be "John's Best Pizza."
Didn't see a projected opening date and didn't have time to stop.
Anyone know anything?

I grew up on John's Best on Westport Ave, and the John's Best in Norwalk rocks too.
I'm hoping that the Ridgefield location is or will be open in August since I'm setting up a meeting place for a bunch of us going to see a concert there . The food is always great, too much for one person and the prices are great! Sorry wincountrygirl, but most disagree with you.›7 Replies-

re: wincountrygirl
There's a John's Best here in Brookfield, CT, and another one up in New Milford. It's not HORRIBLE, but it's nothing special or interesting at all. I prefer Rocco's and La Famiglia in general. But, I gotta be honest: This area is SO oversaturated with middle-of-the-road Italian/pizza joints and none of them really stands out.
The only true stand-out pizza in the area (so far) is Carminuccio's in Newtown on Route 25. Really well-done thin crust, outstanding taste and lots of good toppings -- including BACON! ;-)

I see the signs are up at John's Best in Ridgefield. Anyone have an idea when they are due to open? From the signs, it looks to be more like the Westport location instead of the Norwalk location on RTE 123. That would be a little disappointing since I really think that Norwalk one is superior.

re: wincountrygirl
Just continue north up 123 and go to Joe's in New Canaan. Way better and an extra 5 minute drive from the south. Jfood loves the place (especially the bacon and tomato pizza) and the owner, Lorenzo, (son of Joe) will do anything within his power to make you a combination you will love. They go as far as roastingtheir own pepper for the the store made sauce. Everything made on premises.

re: oprah1234
if you continue reading the other posts you will see this relates to the mt kisco location and there is also a norwalk location that is mentioned. there is a whole thread on sonic opening in the area prior to opening.
chowhounds try to get ahead of the curve and winecountrygirl is one of the best at finding new and untested places.
