Salem,MA for the Columbus Day weekend with a 5 year old and a fasting mama?
Strange...I know, I know...stomach adhesions have flared up and I'll be on a fast ( juices and some soft foods) Rumor has it Salem is not known for its food per se, however I generally like carte blanche when I'm away. Alas...
Husband and son are true chowhounds ( and Halloween freaks) and would like to know some not to be missed b-fast, lunch, dinner and snacky places. What's essential? Stuff we'd kick ourselves for missing? There and on the way up or down from NYC?
Any thoughts about Rockefellers or Victoria Station?
Should we venture to Gloucester or Rockport for a lobster shack?
Many Thanks and Have a Spooktacular Halloween,
I'd suggest the A Taste of Thyme Cafe at 122 Washington St in Salem for breakfast and lunch. They have fabulous banana pancakes.
For dinner try Finz (http://www.hipfinz.com) on Pickering Wharf (76 Wharf Street) or The Witch's Brew Cafe (http://www.witchsbrewcafe.com/) at 156 Derby Street. The Witch's Brew steak sandwich is a favorite.
