Doughnuts/Coffee Breaks in Connecticut

I'll be driving from Boston to NYC this weekend and usually travel the 90/84/91/Merritt Route. I've already tried Coffee 'An in Westport and am wondering if there's another good doughnut shop along that route. I'll probably be in CT by late morning so it'd have to be a place that doesn't run out by 9 a.m.

Whitney Donut Shop in Hamden, Conn, has excellent store-made donuts. At this time of year, they have excellent cider donuts. The coconut are my personal faves.

Take the Whitney Ave. exit off the Wilbur Cross Parkway (Route 15 - becomes the Merritt eventually) and take a right off the ramp onto Whitney Ave. (route 10). You'll drive through the center of town and then come up on the donut shop on the left, 2574 Whitney Ave.

This stop would be about half an hour before you get to Westport, if you're concerned about the timing.

Off your path, but the best donuts and bagels...and pretty good coffee too, Flanders Bake Shoppe Exit 75 off I-95. Really, really good.
