Restaurant Gill in Rouen

Hi,

We are thinking of having lunch at Restaurant Gill in Rouen. Has anyone eaten at the restaurant and what are your thoughts.

Thanks

  1. We were there several years ago. The lunch menu was limited but the food was very good. I don't think you would be making a mistake.

    1. l'd recommend Gill very highly. It completely merits its two stars, and there is nothing comparable in Rouen. Excellent lievre a la royale in season.
He also now has a very nice informal bistro on the Place Jeanne D'Arc.

Correction. Make that "very nice informal bistro on the Place du Vieux Marche."

      2. Haven't been in years, but then it was fine. Please report back.

Thank you all for your comments. Definitely will report back next month when we return home.

        2. I had one of the best meals of my life at Gill a few years ago! That's the only time I've ever been in Rouen. I remember thinking Gill's location was less than charming (why aren't they in the quaint medieval part of town, just a few blocks away?), but pleasant enough, and the food was glorious.
