Kaito Sushi -- cooked options for the non-sushi fan?

I'm visiting San Diego from Boston next week and hear I must visit Kaito Sushi. I'm dragging a non-sushi person around with me (bummer!). Any tasty cooked options available there? I'm guessing that sitting at the bar for omakase is out.

Thanks for any help!

    1. I've seen Kaito do cooked options at the bar, so I don't think it precludes you from enjoying an omakase meal.

Here's a prior link that asked the same question:

      1. We almost always get a plate of gyutan (beef tongue) when we have non-sushi friends with us at Kaito.
