Kaito Sushi -- cooked options for the non-sushi fan?

I'm visiting San Diego from Boston next week and hear I must visit Kaito Sushi. I'm dragging a non-sushi person around with me (bummer!). Any tasty cooked options available there? I'm guessing that sitting at the bar for omakase is out.

    We almost always get a plate of gyutan (beef tongue) when we have non-sushi friends with us at Kaito.

      I've seen Kaito do cooked options at the bar, so I don't think it precludes you from enjoying an omakase meal.
