Wolfgang's Steakhouse-quick review

Went last night with the family to this Peter Luger's clone. Three orders of the Porterhouse for two. The steak was cooked perfectly and was the best steak I have had since Lugers, and this includes Mastros, Craftsteak, etc. (I have not been to Cut). For dry aged steak lovers, it was perfect.

Salads were okay, deserts were good, but nothing special. Sides of german potatoes and creamed spinach were good, but nothing special. Portions of the german potatoes were too salty, but I think that someone was remiss in stirring after salting it on the grill, as other portions were not.

Service was exemplary and if you go during restaurant week you can order wines off the restaurant week menu for a 20% discount. Also, the restaurant week menu looks good, but kind of misses the essence of the restaurant as you can't get the porterhouse.

All in all, a very good experience.

i agree with about everything...i felt it was the best steak I had until I had Lugers 2 weeks later. But it's a good rendition. The german potatoes are always salty. And at least at Wolfgang's, you can BYOW.

Menu Pages (hopefully this link will work but if not go to the site and enter Wolfgang's and you'll be able to find the menu info there) was kind enough to have a menu with prices - so this should give you a pretty fair idea of what the costs are.

I find the porterhouse at Wolfgang's to be the best steak in Los Angeles.

This mirrors my experience with Wolfgang's. Get their side of bacon also.
