Black Vodka in Calgary

Foodie149 Oct 5, 2009 08:36 AM

Hey all,

I was wondering if anyone knew where to get Black Vodka in Calgary. One of the most popular brands in North America is Blavod. Hopefully someone can help me out!

Thanks :)

    I stumbled across this.

Zyn seems to be a Calgary online (only?) retailer. The little truck icon above the pricing indicates they can get it in 6 business days. There are charges for delivery.

I am a real lover of vodka (Stolichnaya & Prairie)...but I'm not sure I'm ready for black vodka. Black Sambucca - yes, but vodka? I haven't personnally tried it but it would be interesting to know how they achieve the color without affecting the taste. I'm guessing you're thinking ahead to Halloween. My suggestion would be to call either Willow Park or Highlander. I have had great luck with them bringing in special requests for me before. Good luck and let me know how it goes.

I will check Willowpark thank you.

I have been doing some research and it is colored from the catechu extract from the Acacai shrub. Some debate whether or not this affects the taste but apparantly it is often chosen in blind taste tests. It is very black too! And yes thinking ahead for Halloween.
