cool place for brunch in Kitsilano?
Sorry I am adding another post but I just moved to Vancouver and I am in need of recommendations...
Thus far I've been to Cosmic Sophie's which I found OK but I am looking for something that has good food and is-more trendy.
Thanks!

On a nice warm day, Jericho Sailing Centre's Galley Patio & Grill is a MUST :-)

re: grayelf
The bbq pork sandwich, calamari, nachos and fish tacos were all pretty good. I was only there twice last year.
Check: current menu seems about the same:

Is Epic still around? I know the dinner venue upstairs closed but is the street-level cafe still open? They had a pretty good Italian-style breakfast.
This is technically just outside Kits but...
Brunch a la Galerie - organic-focused brunch in the Autumn Brook Gallery with tasty but slightly small portions.›2 Replies-

re: grayelf
Just tried Autumn Brook this morning. What a pleasant surprise! Being set in a gallery the setting is simple and elegeant. The food was very good and excellent deal at $12-13 a dish for the quality and sophistication. I had a French Toast brioche with a berry compote and passion fruit puree. The passion fruit was used sparingly and subtle enough to add a beautiful aromatic fragrance without overwhelming the dish. My partner thought his benny to have the most perfectly cooked egg of his experience in Vancouver. Our defining test for a good brunch place is the coffee and their nice strong Americano style cup of joe definitely hit the mark. We will be back and will definitely keep the place in mind for special events in the future.

Ay, no me digas Sophie's, por favor. Que bruto.
But there is a reason for the lineup -- brunchy places are thin on the ground on the west side, especially trendy ones. Here are a few possibilities
Gramercy Grill Arbutus and 11th – surprisingly inexpensive considering upscaleness of resto, fresh banana bread gratis, great bennies (30 for 2 with coffee) (604) 730-5666 weekends only
Mon Bella Bistoria tel 604 569 2741 • fax 604 569 2742 • 1809 West 1st Avenue, Vancouver BC. Dinner Tuesday to Saturday from 4pm • Brunch on the Weekends from 10:30 to 3 (reservations okay)
tried on July 5 – nice bennies, spuds a bit weird, needs seasoning, $32 for 2Abigail's Party (1685 Yew Street, 604-739-4677) Weekend brunch is apparently a keeper but I haven't tried it yet. Weekends only from 9 to 2
Anyone else?
