It's Urban Eats time and some excellent restos are participating!
http://seattletimes.nwsource.com/html...

We tried the UE menu at Union and it was excellent (except dessert, but that's ok by me).
Starters:
Beef Carpaccio (Excellent, could use a little salt or eat with focaccia like I did).
Chilled tomato soup
Mushroom ravioli in brown butter sauce (OMG. Very nice. Large portion - yay!

)

Mains:
Hangar steak (Nice. SO was very happy with it)
Halibut with corn, bacon and mushrooms (a tad overcooked, but still really good)
Braised pork cheeks

Desserts:
frozen creme fraiche with blueberry sauce (SO liked it - ate it before I got a real taste)
Chocolate terrine with raspberry ice cream and almond milk (very rich and malty. I didn't finish it)
I forget the last option

In all, Union's UE menu was excellent. I suspect it changes daily or close to it, but it's a great deal.

Has anyone tried any of the other UE restos yet? Where should we go next?

  1. Thanks for posting. Quick question: are any of these places doing the same deal for lunch? And if so, is there a list or do you have to contact them one by one?

I didn't see any info about a lunch deal on the website, unfortunately. You might call and ask.

    2. I would suggest Crush as your next stop! Thanks for the Union menu- I am heading there on Wednesday-

      1. Big vote for Taberna del Alabardero. Haven't been for their UE menu yet, but most of the food I had there for dinner a couple weeks ago was spot-on.

Good to know- I have been there for happy hour- (which was so great!)- but not dinner...
