Waffle pastries made with puff pastry

The Recipe Girl blog has a recipe for waffles made with puff pastry dough and served with carmelized apples. It looks wonderful.

Has anyone ever used puff pastry in a waffle maker? It seems inspired to me.

I see the recipe was sponsored by Pepperidge Farm. I would probably use one of the all-butter puff pastry doughs for better flavor.

I keep puff pastry in the frig and never thought to "waffle" it.
What's not to love about apples, cream & waffles!

I will def. give this a try.
