can I move to Greenpoint?

considering moving from midtown over to Greenpoint...somewhere around Greenpoint Ave on the G train. where do you shop for food? where do you eat? am I going to love getting coffee from Cafe Grumpy? I have a lot of recon to do but I'd love to hear some recommendations. thanks!

Yes you will totally love getting coffee at Cafe Grumpy. I live two blocks from there and I am obsessed with that place. You can find just about anything you need on Manhattan Avenue and look out for sales at Hayden-Harnett.

There's The Garden on Manhattan Ave for food shopping which is OK. Also the Farmer's Market in McCarren in Saturdays is your best bet. Most of the upscale (ish) newer places are on Franklin (Brooklyn Label etc). Off topic, I'm currently looking for an apt near there- and it is NOT easy to find a nice one. Good luck!
