I heard that Le Petit Paris, a hole-in-the-wall bakery in Bloor West Village, has closed. They made the most delicious cakes that my family has enjoyed since my childhood. Our favourites were the rum cake (white cake soaked in rum, topped with mandarin orange slices) and the Hollander kirsch (layers of pastry with cream, topped with cherries). Anyone know where I can find comparable cakes?

The great thing about the Bloor West area is that there are plenty of bakeries in the area. Just take a stroll and I'm sure you'll discover another gem.
