Milford CT and Litchfield Hills
I'll be visiting a friend in Milford CT on Thursday, Friday Saturday this week. Friday we'll be on the CT wine trail (specifically for our 3 faves, Sunset Meadows, Miranda & White Silo). We don't want to be pinned down to a lunch or dinner in any particular town, so we're picking an assortment of places depending on where we are when we get hungry. I believe all of these places serve both lunch & dinner. Any feedback?
Litchfield Saltwater Grille in Litchfield, @ the Corner in Litchfield, Wandering Moose in Cornwall, Doc’s Trattoria in Kent, 59 Bank in New Milford, GW Tavern in Washington Depot.
Any feedback on the Basque place in Milford?
You might be well served by looking at my Google map content of restaurants: http://maps.google.com/maps/ms?hl=en&ie=UTF8&msa=0&ll=41.459195,-72.773437&spn=1.218546,2.460937&z=9&msid=106324921966915789140.00044a96c7a994f455333
I superimposed this list (places on the wine trail): http://maps.google.com/maps/ms?msa=0&... (which might interest you), and I have places noted in the vicinity of Milford up to Torrington. Be sure and look on my second page of listings since they are in alphibetical, not geographical, order.
I do not recommend saltwater grill or @ the corner- i have had horrible experiences at both. And my neighbors brought some guests to @thecorner and where "so embarrassed."
Doc's is great and GW is always very busy and consistent in good food and service.
For Lunch I highly recommend The Pantry in Washington Depot. Awesome fresh food and incredibly busy. it's a small place so you may have to wait for a table, especially in the fall, but it is worth it.
