weekend in Paris report
madeleines: had two madeleines at Fauchon and one at La Patisserie des Reves: Philippe Conticini. Very much liked the ones from Fauchon.
had a very nice vegetarian club sandwich at Hotel Le Bristol. One at Hediard was fine
pizza in the 10e at La Villa Andrea. OK.
coffees: amongst other places I had coffees at Cafes Amazone, Soluna and Verlet. Made a terrible blunder- twice- of ordering cappuccinos at Soluna and Verlet. Long life milk from a carton is used- the drinks were disgusting. Moreover at Verlet they took the container of leftover heated milk out of the fridge and heated it again- the heating element had not been cleaned- unimpressive. Particularly disappointed with Verlet, since they have a La Marzacco machine!
chocolates: went to Jacques Genin, Michel Chaudun, JP Hevin, Michel Cluizel. Chaudun is my preference- I am not in any way suggesting that I believe it is the best.
