Celebrating my 21st on a budget

Hi there,

I've been living here for about a month and my 21st birthday is quickly approaching. I have some friends coming in from out of town and I'm looking to go out for dinner and drinks. Where can I find a restaurant where I'll get the most for my money that has a fun atmosphere? Also if you know of anywhere that has BIG/CHEAP drinks (that isn't BBQ) let me know!

Thanks.

Maybe a Thai place? They are usually on the cheap side and used to be where I would take guests from out of town. I recently had dinner at Lantern Thai and Highline. Both were good and have a fun atmosphere. Lantern has a 2 for 1 happy hour until 6 every day. Strong drinks as well.

Hm, thank you but I'm not sure everyone would be up for Thai food. By the way, forgot to mention we'll be going out around dinner time on a Sunday night.

Try Paprika on St. Marks place between 1st and Ave. A. They have a two course pre-fix for $14 Monday-Friday 4-7 pm. Also, the Sunburnt Cow, on Ave C between 8th and 9th st, has $20 brunch, which includes a brunch dish from the menu and endless cocktails for two hours. The Sunburnt cow is awesome, the staff are all Australian and super-friendly. It's usually packed so make a reservation.

Lastly, City Crab is phenomenal. It's on Park Avenue South and 19th st, with 1/2 price cocktails, wine, and beer, $1 oysters, and 1/2 price appetizers Monday through Friday 5-8 or so. Chef Joe is amazing and takes care of his patrons.

        Enjoy and happy 21st!

City crab is one of the worst seafood places in the entire city and its over priced. Do not waste your time or money.
