One dinner in Munich---best German fare?

I will be in Munich next Sunday night ---- its my only free evening. I would like to have a typical German dinner, either in a beer house or at Oktoberfest --- its the last night. I dont want to deal with crazy crowds though, and I think that might be the case at Oktoberfest, although I dont know as Ive never been there. Any advice as to where I should go and what I should eat? THANKS.
