using up sour cream?

I have almost 2 quarts of sour cream to use up. Any ideas?

  1. make a cucumber dill sauce. 1 cup mayo, 1 cup sour cream, 1 cucumber - shredded, 1 handful dillweed - chopped.

    Put it on just about anything! Salmon, turkey breast, dip for veggies, or heck just be really naughty and eat it with a spoon!

    another idea (and a family favorite)

    sliced bananas or strawberries, a small sprinkle of sugar, and a large dollop or sour cream. Yum.

        sour cream coffee cake freezes well too

      2. Use it in mashed potatoes. Make beef stroganoff. Put a dollop into each bowl of chili or even soup.

        1. Sour Cream is great with sriracha. Both work very well in eggs.

          1. Gyro sandwiches with a nice sour cream based tzatziki sauce. Use it in pancake and waffle batter, as an ingredient in bread dough (especially cinnamon buns and sweet dough recipes) or in omelets or blintzes, crepes, or whip it into butter with a bit of cheese for a spread to use on crackers etc.

            1. Lemon Blueberry Sour Cream Cake...you don't need the glaze for this recipe - it's perfect just on its own!
