Looking for opinions on a good upper-end seafood restaurant in Charlotte

Really enjoyed Oceanaire but now they're gone. Had a less than stellar experience at Upstream although I plan to go back at some point and give them another chance. Wasn't impressed with McCormick & Schmick or LaVecchia's.

Anyone have any other suggestions?

Haven't been before. Heard of it but forgot about it. I'll have to check it out too.

The Charlotte location closed some time ago.

Just remembered that there is the Fish Market in Baxter Village in Fort Mill. This is owned by the same people as Sushi 101.

Haven't been yet, but I understand the chef is from Charleston with a strong seafood background... and the menu looks tasty.

That definitely sounds like it's worth checking out . . .

I think you pretty much named all of the seafood specialty restaurants I can think of. Shame about Oceanaire. I've had good food at Upstream and LaVecchias. Upstream is definitely upper-end as far as pricing...I know LaVecchias went through a period when they weren't so good but the last time I ate there I enjoyed it.

I can't think of any other places that offer a broad range of seafood. Theres always Capt. Steve's in Fort Mill if you like it fried!

The only place that comes to mind, and is along the lines of those mentioned above, is Bonefish Grill on Pineville-Matthews Rd (Carmel Commons)

Other than that, I would suggest places that have good steak often have good seafood dishes, like the Palm, or Japanese restaurants.
