I was thinking of planning a night at Rivera for my gourmet club -- anyone been there lately? Would you recommend it?
Yummy!! The chili relano was delicious!! And the salsa is amazing! But you HAVE to get the chocolate cake thingie for dessert....even if you're too full. Don't let the word "cake" fool you...It's like a slab of the richest cocoa truffle in the world, with pineapple on it.
We went to luch. A few items we enjoyed:
sopaipillas - complimentary house baked bread with citrus butter
mussels negro, chorizo, aji amarillo-pisco broth
shrimp and watermelon mojito salad, cucumber, mint
poblano chile relleno salad, smoked chicken, corn, pimentón aïoli
jamón ibérico de bellota pata negra
open-face tacos de pescado
chocolate torte, drunken pineapple
mexico city caramel sundae
olive oil cake, creme fraiche ice cream, strawberry sorbet
These are all great recs, but I especially have to second Adsvino's rec for the cocktails. They are incredible. My favorite is the purple rain. Probably my favorite cocktail in the whole city.
