What in the world is this meat?

My sister sent me this email asking me to guess what she's attempting to make for dinner. I was stumped.

      close! it's alligator! cooking it with lots of butter and thyme!

        Iguana was my first guess too. At least we guessed reptile.

              I thought it looked like alligator. How did she prepare it?

                alligator has a wonderfully subtle gamey flavor. it made me think of a lamb and fish mixed together. it was wet-brined for a few hours then sauteed with onions, garlic, white wine, and herbs.
