Dear all

Am looking for recs for a place to go for dinner midweek ( Tuesday ) which will cater properly for my dad who has coeliac ( gluten intolerance ). Ideally in Liverpool but happy to venture out if that will repay the effort.

Not the Everyman as I know they do but we have been too often.

If there is a place which usually caters for gluten free folk, great. If not, where would you trust to produce something on spec ( though with advance notification ) which does not infringe the gluten free rules ?

Thanks in advance for any help you can give.

Is there any particular type of place you are looking for? I don't know of any places which explicitly caters for people with gluten intolerance, but I imagine the "Hope St Three" - The Side Door, 60 Hope St and the London Carriage Works would all happily sort some thing out with advance warning. Puschka and Ziba probably would too. I'm no expert on what things gluten can be hidden in, but Chinese food is probably quite safe as long as he avoids noodles, and also Japanese too.

Hi

Thanks for this. Spookily I had rung 60 Hope St. yesterday lunch time and they were extremely helpful, so we are going there. It is some time since I ate there so am intrigued to see what it is like.

Thanks for your suggestion .

I've just noticed that Osqa - a restaurant on Oldham St, off Renshaw St - says that it is coeliac-friendly. I've not eaten there, although I keep meaning to, but it may be worth a try next time you go out with your dad.
