Anniversary Dinner in Cannon Beach

We are leaving for Oregon shortly and I'm trying to find a nice restaurant in Cannon Beach that would be open for dinner on Monday. We're adventurous eaters from the Bay Area so will try an cuisine. But we would like to reserve this night for something a bit elegant.

Any suggestions?

    1. I just put in a review of JP's (which had been given good reviews for fine dining) which is in Cannon Beach - I am here with the wife and kids and we really tried hard to find something resembling fine dining here in Cannon Beach. We were not at all impressed with JP's for a fine dining experience - I would have to, by default, recommend Stephanie Inn for dinner - from what I remember the food was decent, and at least the wine selection was broader than what limited offerings JP's has. Unfortunately I can't give you a recent review of Stephanie Inn even though we're still here now - because they have a 12 and over restriction on kids - but at least that should guarantee a quiet meal for you. I am not sure if they are open on Mondays, though, I would give them a call to make reservations anyway.

      Check out their website:

FYI, I have had a mediocre meal and a couple of lousy meals at the Stephanie over the years. Not good food and even it it had been OK, not worth the money...and the views from the dining room windows are of the parking lot.

The best two places I have been in the area (by FAR) are Nehalem River Inn (also no kids, though) just south of Nehalem, and Yummy Wine Bar and Bistro in Seaside (kids 16 and over, must be with parent if under 21).

I have not had dinner there, but I heard that Bread and Ocean in Manzanita started doing a small dinner service. I'd try that for sure before anything in Cannon Beach. The menu looks small but tasty: http://breadandocean.com/dinner.htm

          • Sorry we got these reviews too late. We did not end up at a good restaurant on the actual anniversary date but later had a very good meal at Newmans - 588. This was an intimate setting, well priced restaurant. My husband had wild salmon with a caviar sauce and I had chicken piccata. Cannon Beach does not seem to be teeming with good restaurants but this was my favorite dinner dining experience.
