Corporate Dinner event - Dallas
I am planning a client dinner in Dallas in December. I am based in Boston and do not know anything about the dining scene in Dallas. We would want something downtown for a group of 40-50 people. I don't want a chain steakhouse, rather a dining gem of Dallas. Please advise.
Given the downtown requirement, Stephan Pyles is the first thing that jumps in my mind. Might also conisder Charlier Palmer's at the Joule (though technically a chain I suppose), the Screen Door, or maybe even Dakota's. 560 (restaurant on top of Reunion Tower) is another option, but I cannot vouch for the quality of the food as I have never been there.
Some may disagree with this suggestion, but the Iron Cactus has a nice 2nd floor with a balcony that could probably handle your party. The food (mexican) is not outstanding and it is certainly not a "dining gem of Dallas," but it has a nice, festive atmosphere that would be fun for your group.
Have fun in Dallas.
