I like this place because a) it's BYOB and b) its more relaxed and less crowded than Napoletana. To be honest, I'm not a fan of the pizza at either place. Actually I prefer the pasta at Fornarina better than their pizza. The service is really friendly and it's decent value.
I've been a couple of times, it's ok, but nothing special at all. It main quality is being BYOB. On that aspect, I would put it in the higher tier of Italian BYOB in Montreal, but really, that does not say much, as I can't think of any great ones. I prefer it to Il Piatto Pieno in that area, but food-wise, Napolitana is better. However, Fornarina has a nicer atmosphere and you can reserve. To me, it's the italian equivalent of what the Greek BYOB Brochetteries are to Greek food.
Still, all that being said, I never go there by choice, if I have the option, I'll always end up somewhere else.
If anyone ever starts a good italian BYO in Mtl, that will be such a happy day.
