Can anyone recommend a good place to get hand crafted beers in the Union Square area?  Anything but Heartland Brewery.  Could even be a belgian place....</content>

      <content>What do you mean by handcrated beer? Beers brewed in house? If so I don't think that exisit in Union Square. </content>

      <content>Resto isn't too far.  It's on 29th between park and Lex.  And people don't ordinarily think of this, but Gramercy Tavern has an *extensive* beer list.  They don't treat you badly if you just go in there for a drink or two at the bar.  

A little further up,on 33rd (i think) is Rattle-n-Hum which has, I think 40 taps.  </content>

      <content>Right in Union square the only place with some good beers is Lillies on 17th street and Broadway.  They carry Leffe Brun, Hofbrau, Delerium, etc.  Pretty good food and even have some live Irish music on Saturdays at 4:00.

      <content>Stand on 12th St always carries 8-10 local beers on tap (usually selections from Victory, Troegs, Sixpoint, Peak Organic, Captain Lawrence, Bluepoint, Cisco, Weyerbacher, Brooklyn Brewery, Southampton, etc..).</content>
