The Central Park Boathouse

I could write a long post here about this place, but to sum it up..

Nice location, most of the staff are pretty good.

Management a complete waste of time.

Left my credit card behind at the bar, got home which was quite a long way (hours) from the restaurant. Called and told them name, card and where I left it. Management refused to post it back to me. I wasn't going to waste 2-3 hours traveling there so I had to cancel my card and get a new one sent out.

Not so big a deal, but enough to annoy the heck out of me and how the belligerent manager just shrugged me off. Well in today's world I am more than happy to tale my business elsewhere, and so should you.

  1. I agree that the behavior you encountered was inexcusable. However, to be frank, even if whomever you spoke with had been willing to mail it back, since you can't be sure who might have gotten their hands on the card after you left it there, in this age of identity threft, I think canceling it would still be the prudent thing to do.

We've been to the Boathouse twice (though not recently) and enjoyed the food. What did you eat and how was it?

    1. Poor service is always disappointing and during these times all businesses have got to appreciate the value of giving not just good but great service. That said... I hope you tried the crabcakes.
