Bond 45

wincountrygirl Sep 24, 2009 10:04 AM

We are going to a matinée on Saturday the 3rd and our friends have made dinner reservations afterward at Bond 45. Does anyone know anything about this place? Should we go or back out? We have not had very good experiences at restaurants they have suggested in the past. HELP!!

I just looked at the menu for Bond 45 and when it looked very familiar, I realized that I was recently at Trattoria Dell Arte for a business lunch and the menu is almost identical. I didn't know that Bond 45 was a Fireman restaurant.

Fwiw, I had the Strozzapreti with Basil Pesto Sauce at this lunch, and it was actually very good. It's on the menu at Bond 45 as well.

Bond 45, like it's "sister" Cafe Fiorello has a very good antipasto bar--I remember loving the caramelized roasted fennel. It's not fabulous, and certainly not cheap, but I wouldn't back out of joining friends for dinner there.

Thanks everyone. No, I won't back out - only if the food was bad!!!! If the food is worth the price, I don't mind payng the price. The antipasto bar does sound good!!

I went to Bond 45 once and made a meal of the antipasti (there are a lot to choose from). It was fine - nothing to rave about, but satisfying enough, and fairly priced. If you're looking for a very special meal, though, keep looking. There are about 8 million threads about theater district dining - just search.

Not looking for anything special. Friends already booked this and I was just wondering how it was. I will say, when I checked the menu on line, prices were definitely NOT reasonable. $26 for a pizza margherita?

Yeah, that's nuts, but as mentioned, I had antipasti, not a pizza margherita. The antipasti are 3 for 20ish dollars. Which I think is pretty reasonable.

Searching the board for theater dinner recommendations should yield a few threads
