The Clubhouse in Cost Mesa Closing

I just received an E-mail from The Clubhouse restaurant at South Coast Plaza in Costa Mesa. It seems that they will be closing their doors at the end of this year. If you're a member, go use your points. If you like their establishment, go eat there one last time because it'll be gone soon.

    Is this place any good, never been? Got a coupon for $25 off $50 or more or $50 off $100 or more.

      Totally worth it if you have a coupon. I would suggest their Champagne Sunday Brunch. A great spread of the best items they have on their menu. I'm quite fond of their bar...great drinks and the atmosphere is pretty classy...in that country club sort of way.

        I never cared for the food. I had a rather disgusting chicken picatta. The other time I had a burger and it was just okay. I would not recommend this place, but that's just me.

        I think I fall in the middle. While I wouldn't go on my own accord, I might go w/a coupon...I find the food to be just okay, nothing spectacular, but a nice, clean environment. I wouldn't recommend it either, but coupons can often compel me to go.

          Agree 100%. Although they do have a pretty good lobster bisque...thankfully in a normal-sized cup. Some dishes are Claimjumper huge.

        I never dined in their restaurant, but I used to run into their booths at various "taste of" festivals. What I remember them for is meatloaf with mashed potatoes and gravy served stacked in the style of a hot fudge brownie a la mode.
