Casa Linda on Abott Kinney in Venice

Anyone know what this place is going to be all about. It's on the corner of AK and California, across from Abbotts Habit. It used to be a fast food-ish type Mexican place called Tortilla Fresh (or something like that).

They've been working on it for a few months.

I searched but couldn't find anything on the board about this.

well that's disappointing. i like hal's -- but don't see them doing mexican very well. i fear a kate & dave's situation (is that the name)?

Actually they do a pretty great huevos rancheros at Hal's for brunch.. Their chef Manuel does some pretty good mex style food - it just isn't the focus on Hal's menu. I spoke to the owner about the new place, sounded promising!
