Il Cantinori
I haven't been here in ages...and wondering if it is still as good as I remember...has anyone been lately that has thoughts to share?

The first time I ate in Il Cantinori was in 1986 or thereabouts. It was absolutely wonderful. Real Northern Italian food circa 1986 was relatively new, at least to me, and I loved every forkful. Over the next couple of years the place became the go-to family restaurant although my family was much too plebian (and I don't mean that as harshly as it may sound) to appreciate what Pino was doing. But shortly thereafter I began to notice a steady and percipitious decline in the food. It never recovered its early glory. I am amazed the restaurant still exists. But I will always be thankful I had those great food experiences that trained my palate for the future.
