Living in California, there wasn't very much Caribbean food, and now that I'm in London, I'd like to find something like this again. Where are the best places? Specific recommendations at specific places would be great - i.e. which place is best for mutton curry? which is best for chicken? etc... I think I spotted some possible places in/near Brixton market....but places in North London would be great too. But if it's the best, I'm willing to travel to get there. Thanks very much! The best Jamaican stuff I've had in my area is Tasty Jerk and Taste of Jamaica in Croydon or Tickle me in West Norwood. I also really like Jus Spice in Streatham. In Brixton I like D's Roti hut, (I'd only order the rotis - the chicken and goat are both good') or a little further afield there's the Trini Roti Hut in Herne Hill. Sorry if this is no good for you seeing as you're near Turnpike Lane, but I'll consult some mates about the options near you.
