Profanity in Posts
I find it troublesome that certain posts/threads are deleted from Chowhound for any amount of reasons, yet certain ones with profanity are allowed to remain on certain threads.
Could somebody please clarify this matter?

Chowhound Posting Etiquette:
Personal attacks and offensive language aimed at other posters are not permitted. Again: "Hate the chow, love the chowhound." A friendly, respectful environment encourages onlookers to offer their chow tips.
Our policy on incidental vulgarity, obscenity, and general offensiveness in otherwise chow-ful postings is that anything is OK so long as it's not said in anger or is clearly intended to stir up trouble.

"Hate the chow, love the chowhound" is a good guideline. Lately, I've been getting an angry vibe from a couple of posters... I widh they would keep things in better perspective.

As others have mentioned, we don't necessarily remove posts for use of incidental profanity. If profanity is used in an angry way, directed at another user, then we'll remove that, but in general, just containing profane words isn't going to get something deleted.
