NoRTH for ARW
Went on 9/22 for dinner and again opted to dine in the bar area. The bartender was very knowledgeable about both the wine list and the food and made several wine pairing suggestions. He also offered up the ARW menu.
Started with complimentary calamata olives while we perused the menu (I think this only happens at the bar)
Margarita Pizza-this was huge, it would have been more than I could eat for my whole meal and for $12 it would be a great appetizer for a group to share. Very thin crisp crust with lots of cheese, fresh basil leaves and dabs of crushed tomato, could have used a touch of garlic for my taste extra cheese and red pepper flakes were served on the side
Caprese Salad-This was served as a mound of iceberg lettuce, onions and tomatoe next to a round of whole mozzarella with a very soft and gushy center all drizzled with balsamic-while the taste was good, it wasn't what I think of for this type of salad
Grilled Sea scallops served over fresh peas, pea puree and orzo topped with watercress-this came with 3 large scallops and a very creamy orzo, pea mixture. The watercress provided a touch of bitter was a tad unwieldy to eat. Would definitely order this dish again
Baked Ziti- this was a HUGE portion and was true comfort pasta- it would be plenty for 2 people to share and had a tangy tomatoe sauce
Nutella Mousse Cake-This was about the size of a muffin or cupcake and had the spongy texture of a chocolate lava cake with the gooey center. It was topped with vanilla bean whipped cream and garnished with raspberries & raspberry puree on one side and chocolate sauce and chopped peanuts on the other. Very good!
Tiramisu- This was another huge slice and we didn't finish it. Had more of the coffee flavor I look for.
The bar has a large mirror that hangs over it so you can people watch everyone in the place as well as the chefs in the open kitchen.
I would go back for ARW for sure!
