Telepan: Eating at the Bar?

Has anyone done this? I have never been but was thinking about going tomorrow night for an early dinner (around 6ish). There will be two of us. I want to be sure the chances are good that: 1) we'll be able to score seats; 2) the seats have backs; 3) the bar is a comfortable place in general to eat (e.g. its not in the vestibule or otherwise overly cramped). We typically enjoy eating in bars, the fall menu looks good and we have reason to go out tomorrow night, so would love any thoughts you have about this plan. Thoughts on the menu are welcome as well. Thanks very much.

Eating at the bar is fine. Plenty of space, comfy chairs, you'll have a great experience. I did the 4 course meal at the bar last Friday, with some friends, we all mixed and shared, so I got a taste of a lot of stuff. I love the smoked trout appetizer, we also had the egg and the ham, both were great. I had the pirogie for the mid course, it was good, but I'd try something else next time. I had the chicken, and my friend had the trout, for the entree. Both wonderful. And the cheese platter for desert, though my friends were tight with Bill Telepan, who sent out all of the deserts ... the smores thing was pretty good, considering I don't have a sweet tooth.
