Downhill - Woburn China Pearl
This place used to have a lavish lunch buffet.
I was nearby today and dropped in intending to have lunch.
They are now serving dim-sum during the lunch hour every day. I have no comment on the dim-sum, which may be fine, as it has been on weekends, because I didn't want it.
However, the so-called buffet was half a dozen trays of remnants of lord-knows-what. It was all overcooked, unlabeled and unidentifiable. I just walked out. I drove over to Pho #1 in Woburn and had a very pleasant bowl of seafood-noodle soup instead. Too bad. C.P.'s lunch used to be a good deal.

I've never been there when the lunch buffet was attractive, admittedly only a couple of time a year or two ago.
I'm interested in the lunch dim sum. The owner had mentioned that he was looking into doing it.
Anyone been and tried it?

The dim sum is fantastic. I used to go to Chinatown but there is no need anymore. The have the best ha kau (shrimp dumpling). Somehow my husband and I have made it for dim sum about 4 times this past month. We have been there during weekdays as well as weekends. You'll see lots of chinese families eating there on the weekends. The quality is as good as in Chinatown. The food is good!

I've never been for dim sum, but its weekday lunch was a really grim Chinese-American affair as recently as a year ago.

yea dimsum is the only reason to go. Id say its about 95% of CP Boston without the parking, tolls, and wait.

Their Dim Sum is not bad. Not comparable to hei la moon but pretty good and good selection if you want to avoid crowds and no to minimal wait.
