Bagels in the east village?

I'm new to the neighborhood and am looking for a place I can grab a good bagel (not interested in cream cheese, etc) on my walk to work. Ideally I'm looking for something between A and Lafayette, Houston and East 10th.

New to Chowhound (Manhattan) and can't figure out how to start a new post, but I have a question: On Nov. 11 I need to take to dinner 60 mostly European, art-loving, wine-drinking foodies and I need help from you experts. I 'd like the place to be downtown, hip and with good food and a good wine list. Price can be up to about $125 per person if need be, but cheaper would be even better. Any and all suggestions greatly appreciated.
