Sunny With A Certainty of Meatballs

I'm seeing "Cloudy With A Chance of Meatballs" in a few days at the Arclight Sherman Oaks. For dinner I've become determined to have the best nearby spaghetti and meatballs. Anyplace within a 5-10 minute drive?

Over the years I've found spaghetti and meatballs, while simple sounding, is a harder dish to pull off successfully then it might seen. The spaghetti needs the right bite, the meatballs need to be spiced just right, and the sauce can't overpower the rest of the dish.

I don't want different noodles, I don't want to create spaghetti and meatballs by ordering meatballs as a gargantuan side, all I want is spaghetti with sauce and gold ball sized meatballs.

Where?

The Meatballs at Mozza are amazing.

I have not had the meatballs at Spumoni in Sherman Oaks, but the spaghetti bolognese is fantastic. The bolognese sauce is the best I've had. Granted, you will have to get the meatballs as an extra, but are only $2.00 more according to the menu.

Lido Pizza is my aboslute favorite place in all of LA for spaghetti and meatballs, and it's maybe 3 minutes from the Arclight in Sherman Oaks.. and that's with traffic. It's on Victory, off Sepulveda. They make their own pasta and their own sauce. It's all you can eat, and it's fantastic. Even if you prefer your spaghetti with marinara, make sure to try a plate with their meat sauce. It's out of this world.

A Miceli's and the singing waiters. I haven't been in ages. I think the last time I went to one of their locations was 5 years ago in Hollywood.
