East Harbor Seafood Dim-Sum Palace (Ying Bun) from the Outer Boroughs episode?
Hop Kee from the Disappearing Manhattan episode?
Which episode are you talking about? They repeat old ones all the time and new ones (when they have them) air on Monday nights.
Here's an episode guide list:

I wonder why he picked this restaurant in chinatown? It has not gone rave reviews here on chowhound, but he commented on how wonderful the food was.

Well he did go with someone who appeared to be known to the management, and ordered off the "Secret" Chinese menu, and that particular episode was about old places in Manhattan that are special because they've lasted a long time....

I go here all the time and i Know why they picked it...
Salted squid with hot peppers, snails in black bean sauce, pan fried flounder, roast duck chow fun and chinese broccoli with garlic keep me coming back again and again...that and the $3 beer.
