Hey you all,
Me and 2 friends are flying in from Sweden to celebrate that one of us is turning 30 and I need your help! We would like to go out and eat; it doesn't need to be cosy, intimate or anything like that. We just want great food in a great place and if it's a little bit of experience/weird place that doesn't do any harm... not super expensive though please. We dont need posh, we just want it great! ;)

You might consider Local. It's a moderately sized restaurant in a well designed space. The location is a bit obscure, but it's a quick walk or cab ride from downtown. I like Local because it's generally full of people from the immediate area, so it feels like an insiders' kind of place.

I am thinking Town Hall. It is really good food and will give you the experience of eating quasi-soul food (an "American" experience), upscale, with a great lively vibe.

My first thought is Canteen, but they're not open for dinner on Sundays.

Maybe Bar Crudo, Nopa, or Bar Tartine?

Nopa was my first thought, it has good food, it's lots of fun, and there are great cocktails, which are often good to have around to celebrate a big birthday.
