I did an analysis of the Filling Station pumpkin pie with a baker friend this weekend.

It appears that between the layer of graham cracker and pumpkin is a lovely, custard like layer of...

wait for it...

almond paste!

it adds an extra layer of texture and flavor that really makes the pie unique.

Just thought the 'hounds would like to know!

It also makes the pie a potential death dessert for those with nut allergies (#1 food allergy on the planet). I hope they have it posted which pies are almond-paste enhanced.

Seriously, if you have a potentially life threatening nut allergy, don't you ask about these things first?

I'm a diabetic and I always ask about sugar content before I eat something.

It also limits my consumption of that wonderful pumpkin pie to just a spoonful :-(
