Tips for Dining, Eating, and Food Shopping in the SF Bay Area (including Berkeley, Oakland, Napa, Sonoma, Marin, and San Jose)

Late night dining in Presidio/Laurel Heights area

Have some family coming in staying at the Monte Cristo at Presidio and Pine a week from tonight, and need some place within walking distance whose kitchen is open past 11.

According to Yelp, the only (acceptable) choice seems to be Solstice, whose food seems decent.

Anything else I should know?

    1. This Chinese restaurant is in the Inner Richmond which is a short drive away---open 0100-0200:

        1. If you are looking for something nicer, you could try the bar at Spruce.

            1. re: Candice

Spruce is one of my favorite restaurants in San Francisco and I immediately thought of that, but it appears that they close at 11....

EDIT: Their website says that the bar is open "'til close" I will call them and try to get a rough estimate

              • That neighborhood is pretty dead at night. Lucky Penny is open 24 hours, Mel's Drive-In till 1am.

Nopa's open until 1am, and is very good, but it's a mile away.

I figured as much. Spruce told me that the food stops at 11, but they do desserts until 11:30.

Are there any reports on Solstice? I couldn't find anything on here.

                    • Dosa on Fillmore is open until midnight. There are probably other late-night dining options on Fillmore (~6 blocks away).

                        1. re: SmittySan

Dosa's 11 blocks away (Fillmore is 8). While there are plenty of dining options on Fillmore, it doesn't seem like a lot of them are open past 11 (like Pizzeria Delfina)
