Driving from Aspen to Denver

We will be driving from Aspen to Denver and will stop for dinner. What is the best restaurant in Vail, Beaver Creek, Edwards or Avon? Price does not matter. Just looking for great food!!!!

Another vote for what the BlueOx said. Grouse Mountain is "one tough bird", and Sweet Basil has the sexiest bar in Vail Village, plus foie gras.

The Vail Daily has a Spago ((Ritz at Bachelor Gulch) ad for this Thursday and Friday, in todays issue; $11 for all entrees, $3 drink specials and 50% off wines. Plus $99 rooms for you Frontrangers. My guess is the "locals" will overwhelm the place.

The top 7 places in Vail and the Eagle River Valley (I now include Beaver Creek, so its gone from 5 to 7 places) are: Larkspur, Sweet Basil in Vail, Avondale in Avon, Dish and Juniper in Edwards and Splendio and Grouse Mountain at the Beav. Some folks might want to add Kelly Liken or Spago, but the over the top pricing and lack of "energy" compared to the Magnificent 7 keeps them off my list. If you decide to do lunch, only Avondale and Sweet Basil are open during the day.

What BlueOx said. I recently had brunch at Avondale which was the absolute best buffet brunch I've ever had. As of a couple weeks ago they were doing 2 for 1 brunch as well.
