Looking for Vacaville Coffee Tree Apricot Logs Recipe

When I was a little girl my family would take my brother and I to the Nut Tree and sometimes to the Coffee Tree accross the highway. Besides the giant giraffe rocking "horses," and the fresh pineapple with marshmellow sauce, I loved the apricot logs at the Coffee Tree. I want to remember the center a crunchy sugar dried apricot paste, I think the dough was puff pastry. Maybe the business envelope fold and some slashes perpendicular to the length. A wash of some sort and (sanding?) sugar.

If anyone remembers these delicious treats, please chime in with your memories and maybe we can create a recipe.

Or better yet, if you have it, please post it! I am salivating. Hmm, did I just remember a little saltiness with apricot log?
