There's a new Trader Joes location opening in San Mateo...

in the old Good Guys/Tower Records location opposite Hillsdale Mall. It looks like they are taking up the whole building, which is huge for a food store. I don't know when they are opening, but I'm sure it will be packed when they do. It will be easily 2-3 times the size of the existing one off Delaware Street.

I was told by a TJs clerk in Menlo Park that the new store in San Mateo should be open by the end of the month and that they were taking "half" the space--Tower Records/Comp USA/Good Guys. TJs is also opening a new store in Palo Alto sometime in October at the Town and Country Center on El Camino.

Half the space would make more sense, I don't think I've ever seen a TJs as big as the whole building.
