Ossining: Serafina & Capriccio
Don't know if this is new news or not, but thought we'd share...
My family recently learned that Serafina's in Ossining (Arcadian Plaza), which has been closed for renovation all summer, is becoming Capriccio III. The new restaurant is supposedly opening in a few weeks.
Capriccio currently has two locations in Croton. This new location will be the restaurant's third installment. Some of the Serafina's staff will remain, including our favorite, jolly pizza-maker who always greeted us with a big smile and a "How you doing? Great to see you!"
I hope that the previous owners of Serafina's are doing well -- Frank and his wife were always wonderful hosts to us and made amazing food. We'll miss Frank's veal cannelloni, pillow-puff gnocchi and incredible risotto, not to mention his wife's out-of-this-world tiramisu. We're new to Capriccio's food but know that it has many faithful followers on this board. We look forward to trying it!

In today's Ossining Web Blast:
There will be a Grand Opening/Ribbon Cutting Ceremony of the Capri Restaurant (formerly Serafina's) in the Arcadian Shopping Center on Monday, October 26th at 10:00 a.m. The owners of the Capri in Ossining also own the Capri in Tarrytown. For more information on the restaurant and menu you can go to their website www.gotpizza.com or call the Ossining restaurant at 944-8000. -

re: intrepid
The Japanese place is the same restaurant that's in Yorktown Heights' Triangel Center -- it's called Okinawa. Good atmosphere and food. Should be a welcome addition to Ossining.
Glad to hear that Frank was trying to sell the place and that it wasn't due to something tragic. We'll miss him and his wife... and their food. Yes, I think it is Vinnie -- he was up at Capriccio II flipping pizzas on Wednesday when we visited there for the first time. Apparently, he'll be back to the Ossining restaurant when it opens.
