where to go for a coffee / drink before a 3pm NY Waterway Cruise?

Taking a friend's Mom to do the NY Waterway Cruise for 90 minutes this Saturday afternoon.

Departs at 3pm from 38th St. @ Hudson River Park.

Any suggestions on what / where we can meet up before hand... perhaps a nice cafe for a coffee / cake close by? Or a mid-afternoon drink? : ) (hanging out with Mothers tends to go smoother with a drink!)
