San Diego meet and greet

bropaul Sep 15, 2009 04:12 PM

Hey SD Hounds, I'm an East coaster who needs some help. I have to organize a reception/dinner for a small alumni group in San Diego. I am looking for a place that can accomodate between 12-16 people, mostly younger men (under 40). A small private room would be great. I'm thinking mainstream American cuisine, does not have to be high-end, but does have to have good food and a good bar. Anything come to mind?

Quarter Kitchen in the IVY has a private room which might fit what you are looking for

Grant Grill at the US Grant hotel downtown has a private room, excellent food and a sleek bar.

Rainwaters is a family owned high end steakhouse, they have several rooms, including the two where they store their wine.

Roy's has two locations with private rooms and group packages that can include alcohol.

Is there a particular area of San Diego you prefer?

I've never been to San Diego, so I wouldn't know. I was actually hoping to pick the venue first and then a hotel.
